Auricular Therapy
What is Auricular Therapy?
In Reflexology, we see a reflection of the body in both the feet and the hands. They are mini maps that correspond to all areas of the human body. We can also apply this principle to the ear.
This therapy can be used alone or in conjunction with a foot or hand reflexology treatment or a bodywork massage session. As with foot or hand reflexology, imbalances in the body can be detected in the ears.
When massaging through the eight zones of the ear, imbalances can be detected through tender spots - these generally correspond with the findings of a reflexology or bodywork massage. Pressure points can be identified and ear seeds can be applied to provide ongoing stimulation to a particular area of the body.
Any area or system of the body can be treated - digestive issues, muscular tightness, sleep irregularities, and even vertigo!

Who Can Benefit?
Everyone from young to the elderly can benefit from Auricular Therapy
How Much Pressure is Used?
A firm but gentle pressure is used. Imbalances are indicated by tender spots - a tenderness scale of 1-10 is used to minimise any discomfort
Are There Any Reactions?
If a corresponding area of the body is out of balance, that auricular point in the ear will be tender or inflamed - pressure is adjusted to cause as little discomfort as possible. However, it is normal for the auricle to become very warm and glowing after the treatment but this diminishes after a short while.
Most clients feel a profound sense of relaxation after the treatment is completed.
